  1. Cold wet clothes

The best way to reduce the inflammation of the skin as well as the rash that is caused by hives is to use a cold wet cloth against the inflamed skin for 15 minutes. Make sure to continue this after every 2 hours to get faster results. If the itchiness passes the point of sanity, then use a cold bath to feel relieved. Cold baths or showers are not recommended for sensitive skins.

  1. Use of herbal antihistamine

Histamine is the primary cause of hives. To counter this skin problem, use herbal antihistamines that are found in stinging needles, coltsfoot or basil. If you need to use basil, heat the leaves till they are warm and then apply them gently on the infected areas.

  1. Oatmeal bath

Oatmeal baths are recommended if the hives have infected your complete body. The oatmeal bath is suited if the hives have infected the lower part of your body especially your legs. You can also take a warm bath to remove the exfoliated skin of the hives.

  1. Teas

Herbal teas are the best bet for reducing the effect of hives on the body. But remember that hives are reduced only by herbal teas and not with normal teas. Some of the herbal teas that reduce hives are green tea, goldenseal, chamomile as well as devil’s claw. It is the antihistamines present in these teas that will help your body fight the hives.

  1. Aloe vera

Aloe vera is the best bet to relieve you from any kind of skin rashes and problems. Aloe vera not only reduces the hives present on the body, but also helps the uninfected area to fight off the bacteria that causes skin problems. While applying aloe vera to the affected skin, make sure to apply some in the adjacent areas too.

  1. Stress

Stress levels also have a direct correlation with hives. So reduce your stress levels with meditation and yoga to reduce the infection of hives.

  1. Exercise

Exercising is the best way to reduce your hives infection. Also reduce your sodium intake since sodium restricts your body from sweating. Also make sure to hit the sauna everyday for 30 minutes. Your aim should be to lose 2-3 lbs of body water and rehydrate yourself with 3 lbs of water.

These are some basic home remedies to treat hives. Make sure to implement them in your daily life.
